Centiglobe partners with Mastercard Move to offer near real-time cross-border payments through a single integration. The collaboration enables banks and payment service providers to scale operations efficiently, accessing Mastercard’s global network across 180+ countries and 150+ currencies.

Centiglobe, a Swedish fintech specialising in blockchain-based cross-border payment solutions, has announced a strategic collaboration with Mastercard Move, Mastercard’s global money movement portfolio. This partnership will streamline cross-border transactions for banks and payment service providers (PSPs), offering near real-time payment processing through a single integration.

This collaboration brings significant operational benefits to financial institutions. It reduces the time and effort typically required for integration and enables rapid scaling of cross-border payment services. By offering seamless access to Mastercard Move, Centiglobe expands the capabilities of its members—regulated banks and PSPs—supporting faster and more efficient global payment transactions.

Accelerating access to global payment networks

Mastercard Move, the global money movement portfolio of Mastercard, provides access to more than 180 countries and over 150 currencies, reaching over 95% of the world’s banked population. It supports a wide range of money movement needs, from person-to-person payments to business disbursements.

Through the integration with Centiglobe, Mastercard Move becomes accessible to a broader group of financial service providers. This access enables these institutions to process international payments in near real-time, bypassing the need for multiple, complex system integrations.

“By integrating with Mastercard Move, we are enabling our members and their customers to expand their reach and access to global payments while jointly working with Mastercard to drive new growth opportunities. By leveraging our collaboration, a local payment provider can for example facilitate an international payment in near real-time without additional integrations,” says Petter Sandgren, CEO of Centiglobe.

Supporting growth with efficient infrastructure

Centiglobe’s blockchain-based platform operates on a model powered by tokenised deposits. Unlike traditional cross-border models that often rely on intermediaries and charge fees per transaction, Centiglobe provides a scalable infrastructure with a fixed cost based on transaction volume. This model is particularly beneficial for institutions managing high volumes of transactions, as it supports cost-efficiency, optimises liquidity management, and reduces counterparty risks.

“At Mastercard, we are committed to enabling fast, secure and accessible cross-border transactions for businesses and people,” says Pratik Khowala, Global Head of Transfer Solutions, Mastercard. “Our collaboration with Centiglobe provides a broader range of banks and payment service providers with seamless access to Mastercard Move, thereby extending the benefits of enhanced payment connectivity to even more businesses and consumers around the world.”

The collaboration reinforces both companies' missions to improve the accessibility and efficiency of international payments. Centiglobe continues to focus on reshaping global payments by offering regulated financial institutions innovative tools to unlock new revenue opportunities and provide transparent, secure, and swift cross-border payment services.
